A twin-engine Piper Aztec was forced to land on its belly at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport on Sunday after the pilot reported the landing gear wouldn't come down. Save for some bent propellers, the plane landed safely and the three people on board suffered no injuries, fire officials said.

The 1977 plane had taken off from Boca Raton Airport, bound for the Bahamas, when the pilot reported a hydraulic leak, according Fort Lauderdale Fire Division Chief Lois Bowman. It was instructed to divert to Executive Airport, she said.

The aircraft is registered to a Delaware corporation. The names of the occupants were not released.

Are you kidding?
I'm surprised CNN hasn't had constant coverage of if for the most of the day bring out all kinds of experts to speculate as to what we can expect when the aircraft finally lands after dumping fuel and circling to burn off what can't be dumped.  Smile

I've seen at least 3 gear up landings in the past couple of months where i work with no mention of them in the news.

"In other news, the 647th Pokemon monster has been revealed."

Yeah, very slow news day. I remember seeing one just after I finished up my Private written. The pilot was busy chatting up a storm with his guest.
