V2500 New Version Becoming Available+retrofit

This is pretty interesting:

-Operating costs down by 25%
-Fuel burn lowered by 1%

Good News for the Engine apart from the fact that even more UK Work is been shifted overseas.....
An Engineer made a bet that a 747 Gear wouldn't retract in a Hangar. He lost the bet.

So how many more hours/cycles would 25% increase mean between service?

Is this related to the EEC upgrade that will allow the V2500 to derate to 40% like the 330/340 ?
