New L/h Irish Airline

Fri Sep 22, 2006 9:15 pm

Just saw info about this new longhaul Irish airline on a DUB forum, starting with flight from Dublin to Singapore... will be interesting to see their outcome!

From checking site, they will actually start with the following services from Dublin to:

Singapore (2 x week)
Beijing (2 x week)
Lagos (4 x week)
Johannesburg (2 x week).

Flights seem to be operated by a 767.

Services will commence in December.

If this does work, yet another blow to Aer Lingus and their l/h plan, delayed by privatisation etc.

Wow, this sounds fairly big. DUB finally getting me serious long haul destinations.

Why has there been no major announcement about this????

Yeah, I find this weird - just checked the dublin airport webiste and there is no mention of it there, which is unusual as they seem to make announcements about everything else........

Their website is very amateurish. I am skeptical if they will ever take off.

Looks like they'll need 3 x 767. On tues they have flights from Beijing, to JNB and to Lagos. And is there a 4/wk market from DUB to Lagos?

Have the 419ers got on another scam wagon?

I think you are right. With such L/h routes, you think there would have been a big annoucement by DUB airport.
Does anyone know, is this a new airline, as based on there website they are also doing cargo?
Address quoted on the website shows them having a hq near the airport as well

The two things that make me wonder are A) DUB-SIN is an awfully long route for a 762ER. Infact it will become the longest 767 route. B) A 762 configured in 3 classes! EI only have two on their A333s.

i too have got a feeling about it being a bit dodgy. i just booked a flight, but cancelled it. my order number was 15. they dont have a very proffessional booking form. also, in the pictures, why does the bird on the tail seem to be different. the burds left wing is not in the same place.

Funny thing: they seem to operate DUB-LOS 4x week while they operate LOS-DUB 2x week!  laughing  . I wouldn´t personally book this supposed airline...

There Pictures on the webpage are taken from DAA.ie

There Jobs for C.S.A's And Cabin Crew are copy and pasted off ryanair.com

And why are they sharing a web address with onedotair.

Seems to me its the new "Freshaer" or "FlyJetGreen" , Although they were alot more professional in presentation.

I called it. An Irish man answered "Hello. Visionair." I hung up then though.

They are in the phone book here (Golden Pages) under Aircraft Charter & Hire.

Maybe they are legitimate but just have a really shoddy website?

I can't believe you all have decoded all this in less than 2 days! Un-believe-able!

The one I found looked like it was a 24L departure at MAN, from the attitude of the aircraft (side on rotation) and the background scenery. There are very few, if any, other airports that have that sort of photo and background. Then it was a matter of looking for 762s at MAN. For a touch up job it would be a mostly white aircraft and there aren't that many that visit MAN.

Couldn't find the others. Not for want of trying, though.

Hi I checked this one out
seems they have got 2x 767 200 em's ex UA and are going to operate via Dubai on behalf of a tour operator. The company VisionAir is Irish registered and owned.
I also called the number and was informed that the website was posted in error, and that the completed site would be available shortly.they have an AOC 47/05 and an operating licence so it looks like this one is for real.

Just a quick follow up to my post: C---- W----- from the DAA has informed me that they have taken a block of offices at the airport and are in the process of moving in. Still not sure but it looks like someone has let (the cat out of the bag)

Hi ei321 yes i believe that right and they are running the jo/berg through lagos so it seems like a sound idea if it works.i am still trying to get some more info but it seems that they have the A/C and the staff and offices so i say more power to them ,we need something like this.lets watch this space.i was also told that they are running a 2 class config so that is pretty smart.lets see how they go before we do the Irish thing and knock them.hey i might look for a job myself it will beat 6 sectors a day.

If they have taken the ex UA -222EM's they are going to struggle to get to DXB let alone anywherelse.

The UA -222EM's are lightweight aircraft with 320,000 lbs MTOW and JT9D engines.

The aircraft are already in 3 class config and I don't think they would spend the money to change it.
