UPS And FedEx

Sat Jul 01, 2000 1:08 pm

Why is is that neither FedEx nor UPS operate any 747-400's? The 747-400 is one of the most economical cargo planes currently available. UPS operates the 747-100 but that model is 30 years old. The 747-400 would be perfectl in the UPS and FedEx fleets. Are either of these two major airlines interested in the Boeing 747-400 or Airbus A3XX? Thanks,

FedEx is said to be interested in the A3XX, and rumor has it that UPS is set to place an order for some 20 or so 747-400F's, pending they are granted routes to China.

Interesting........thanks for the info. The way things are going right now, I don't think UPS will be denied the China routes.
