When Will QF Return Its 767's To BA?

Mon Sep 25, 2006 11:22 pm

When will QF return its 767's to BA?

Also, will BA eventually have all its 767's dusked so it can operate to more long-haul destinations?

Not sure about the QF 767's, but the dusking programme for long-haul 767's has now ended - the ones remaining in short haul config are well used on European flights. Should the 767s come back from QF, they may well dusk some more depending on expansion plans, though I seem to recall that the QF 767s are not ETOPS rated or are not ER models, which is why they are only used domestically by QF.

To my knowledge they are both ETOPS rated and ER models. They were used extensively on Tasman flights prior to the reconfiguration of some OGx 763s to 'domestic' and 'mid galley'.

probably around 2009-10....

after the B787s start coming into the QF fleet (as oppossed to JQs first 12 aircarft), and after some A380s enter the fleet.

To say that QF is currently currently constrained would be an understatement...

any updates on the proposed A330s being borrowed for airbus due to the 380 delays?

The lease of the 767-336(ER)s has an option to go to 2012. They are ETOPS and are certified to 120 minutes.

QF aren;t borrowing any A330's. They are PURCHASING a further 2 from Airbus which will be delivered in 2007

Dont think anytime soon. We need them...our aircrafts are very well utilised at the moment.

Hate operating these aircrafts tho. The ovens are horrible and when they were placed on the tasmans...argh!!

Cheers

QF 767's must be etops. They have used them to HNL and to SFO from there. Come Dec 06, SYD - HNL returns to a 3 x times weekly 767-300 operation in addition to the jetstar A330-200 flights to HNL.
