4 A320's At YUL

Tue Sep 26, 2006 2:35 am

I was passing through YUL yesterday on my way to YWG. While taxiing off 24L to the terminal, I noticed 2 A320's parked close to the de-icing pad. They appeared to be painted in Virgin America colors with red engine cowls and tails and had engine covers on. I was sitting in an aisle seat, so it was hard to see.
Then when taxiing to 24L for departure, I noticed another 2 A320's parked at the Skylink hanger. Both these where all white and the outside a/c had red engine cowlings.
I was wondering what airline they belonged to and why they where at YUL.
Just curious.

These A320s are indeed Virgin America's.
Since the start of operation is delayed due to a longer than expected process to get the operating license, the A320s delivered to Virgin America so far(mainly on lease from ILFC and GECAS) are stored around, including these four at YUL (c/n 2616, 2674, 2800 and 2830).
