VS A/c RON At SFO On 27/09/06?

does anyone have any ideas or clues as to why when I driving past SFO at 9pm I saw a VS aircraft parked by the old TWA cargo hangers? opposite from the South Terminal (gates used by CO and AS)?

Any time you see an aircraft parked in that area that should have departed a few hours earlier would say to me that it went Technical.

well it didnt look as if they were working on it.. there was no lights on it.. so either they fixed the issue or they are waiting for the part..wonder if they were able to fly the passengers out on the 2 BA and the 1 remaning UA flight for the night or did they shack them up at the hotels?

Engine Trouble, Something to do with the VSV's... I've heard its currently 3 Engine Ferrying back to LHR now...

I drove by SFO a few hours back. It's still parked there and another VS 747 was at the gate...

It is still there with the number #2 engine cowlings open.

yes gents a 3 engine ferry to LHR and it will make a fuel stop tonight at JFK 2000 HRS local. G-VWOW 747-400

Hell, they should take a page off of BA's book and pack it with pax and just fly it back home. They might make it to MAN.  duck

Interesting with United's Maintenance HQ there that an engine replacement at SFO couldn't be done.
