TAM Fleet Growing

Fri Sep 29, 2006 10:36 pm

Just a short update.Yesterday the 9th A320 of this year arrived and total fleet is today in 90 aircrafts. Till December 2006, fleet will go to 96 aircrafts. Could be more depending on new widebody aircrafts being negotiated.

Hi JJMNGR,

I was just in NAT for a few months and as usual, received execllent, timely and courteous service from the agent in NAT.

I quipped a quick "parabens" on the 777 order, the agent just smiled.

Do you think that JJ may order more 777s with the latest announcement of a possible 1 year slip of the 350?

My dream for JJ would be an international hub in the northeast, either NAT or FOR.

Cheers!

Congratulations for JJ ! And this bird will allow Tam to fly to all Brazilian capitals (RBR is the last one). The new route will be BEL-BSB-GYN-BSB-RBR and return.

TAM's fleet stand at 90 airplanes. Are they now the biggest airline in Latin America?

Probably TAM will end the year with 100 aircraft. They need to get more widebodies and an urgent refit of their old business class is more than overdue...

Hardi, i believe AM or MX keep as the biggest Latin American fleet. But for sure Tam is a top 3.

Agree about the business class! Concerning to widebodies, they will receive 2 brand new A332 on feb, 2007. If ANAC does not grant the rights for MXP and CDG routes (due to the RG reaction), probably they will look for MIA market (where they could add frequencies without any problems).

Indeed, but at current pace TAM will soon become the biggest in the region.

In terms of pax carried, AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ has been the biggest since 2004. Before, was RG. In terms of fleet, AM is first w. +-105 followed by AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ and third is MX. As AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ fleet will grow to 127 frames IIRC during the next years, AM's fleet will stand most probably on 105.

Just a correction. Since 2001 there is no more TAM - TRANSPORTES AEREOS MERIDIONAIS. There is only one TAM called TAM- LINHAS AÉREAS S.A.

Keep in mind though when talking about fleet size that GOL and Aeromexico have confirmed orders for 737 that have yet to be delivered.
Why fly with 2 engines when you can have 3?

Richard, Felipe, a quick question:

How many pax for TAM in 2005, and how many for GOL ?

Could you break down the numbers into domestic and international ?

What´s the projection for both carriers in 2006 ?

Best regards

TAM is in a fortunate position in the biggest market in South America with domestic competition, GOL. Internationally it is the on;y hope Brazil has, It needs A330 or 777 any where it cam get them. With the summer season in Latin America, it better get all those A330's leased to Qatar airways back soon.

G3 is growing its fleet to 101 frames. AM is replacing the once strong 46 MD80s (3rd largest in the world) and B757-200 fleet with 53 Boeing 737-700/800s. No growth.

JJ flew in 05 nearly 13.5M as well as G3 flew 10M (more than AM and MX) forgot totally G3 on my thread above.

I believe Tam will not sign any leasing without a strong confirmation from ANAC that both MXP and CDG could be run without fears of auctions from RG to block the use of such frequencies.

Confirmed that October 18 will begin daily CNF-GIG-EZE with A32A (12C 144Y) and also the upgrade on GRU-MAO from A320 to A332 (205Y).. seems that Fidelidade Vermelho will receive the option to fly on C (even without C service)
