New BA Website

Sun Oct 01, 2006 1:56 am

In June, I read a copy of the BA staff newspaper.

One of the things that caught my eye was the announcement of a revamped ba.com before the end of the year.

Does anybody here know any more details? A launch date? New features?

I personally find the current BA website a bit out dated and difficult to navigate, and so would welcome a revamp. One thing they have got right though is the price calendar with coloured boxes showing when the cheapest fares are available.
Next flights: LGW-LBA-LGW, LHR-SIN-SYD, SYD-BKK-LHR, LGW-GRO, GRO-CIA, CIA-MAD, MAD-LGW

The Exec Club web site was renovated at the start of August, and I think the new site is in a similar vein. I know the new MMB system allows you to check in more than 1 person at a time over different bookings, which was certainly helpful for us.

There are a few screenshots in the set of slides that BA gave out to investors on its investor day. If you search around the archives you'll find a pdf link to them.

Love the airline, hate the website. Even w/all the time I've spent navigating it, I still get stuck unless I know *just* how to get to a particular part of it.

Exec Club website has been renovated for longer than that. IIRC it has been since about May.

As for the new website. It looks something like this:

Fare Explorer is excellent IMO and especially for someone like me who rarely travels on fixed dates  thumbsup

Personally I don't find the website that bad, maybe because I use it frequently though... I am aware others don't like it much. As Jonno says sometimes things are buried in odd places and it can be tough to find.

The new website will have new features, for example, I know it will allow passengers to pay for any excess baggage before they turn up at the airport.

The website looks cool.

The new site will look excellent when it goes up, thanks for sharing those images.
I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!

It was definately 1st August. And definately not May.  Wink We used OLCI to check in for LGW-ANU late July, and it was the old site. We also went on the ec site during our holiday, old site. The day before we flew back (1st August) we logged onto OLCI and found the site had changed  Smile On the shuttle flight back to MAN I read High Life and it announced the new site, saying rollout was for August '06. I remember thinking 'that was on schedule'.  Smile

Sounds like you are referring to OLCI changes which happened around the end of July/early August.

I've been using this style EC homepage since May, as referenced in this BA EC Flyertalk thread:
