CI Begins Freighter Service At IAH

Sun Oct 01, 2006 11:02 am

CI cargo arrived at IAH this morning. CI is the only Asian carrier to offer both scheduled passenger and cargo service to Houston.

According to the HAS press release, Johnny L.Y. Yuan, marketing director in the Americas for CI, said the carrier sees opportunity in Houston’s petrochemical, medical, aerospace and information technology industries, and points out that one of the major cargo exports to Asia is petroleum exploring equipment.
Yuan also said that CI is starting with two weekly flights, but hopes to increase frequencies to Houston very soon.

Cool, glad to see that IAH is giving DFW a run for it's money in terms of int'l cargo service. Wish I could have been there to see it. Judging by the light, looks like an early AM arrival. Let's hope the Cargo ops yields better results than their pax operations.
