Which Routes Do ANAs 773ERs Fly?

Sun Oct 01, 2006 4:21 pm

I have been looking at various time tables and pictures of course.
ANA has 5 773ERs, but only 4 intl. destinations that I am aware of them flying the 773ER on.

Any info on which other flights receive the 773ERs?

Also will the new route to ORD (due on OCT 29th) be flown with the 773ER?

All their timetables say is 777, which of course could translate into either the -200 or the -300ER.

Thank you for any new light on this.
Boaz.

https://www.ana.co.jp/eng/int/inflight/seatmap/index.html

They have 5 777-300ERs providing for 3 destinations daily. LAX, IAD, JFK. ORD is to come as you said on OCT 29th. They are to have another 777-300ER delivered soon with in a month. (JA736A)

777-200ERs fly to SFO and other Asian destinations.

In addition to the one coming for the ORD route, they still have 4 on order. I assume 1 more will be for SFO. This leaves for 2 more destinations. Anyone think KIX-LAX a possibility?

Yes was thinking the same.  Smile

Thank you for your information! Recent pictures show the 773ER in SFO as well, was this just for the summer season?

Thank you once again.

I think that KIX is a touch market from/to LAX. JAL is stopping, or just stopped service. TG also stopped flying LAX-KIX, although this was due to the nonstop to Bangkok. AA is also going to drop KIX from DFW. It looks that UA from SFO does have a high yield of pax to KIX, as well as HNL and does well to KIX.

ANA used to operate several Long Haul flight from KIX, but all got cancelled due to low profits. KIX is a destination where either an airline does well or not.

I thought ANA was slowly phasing out their 744's. If so, won't the other 773 ER's replace the 744's on the LHR, CDG, and FRA routes too before KIX-LAX or other routes are started up?

Both Japanesse airlines are replacing the 744 with 773ER. JAL has replaced all their European 744 with 773ER opposite what ANA did replacing them first to the USA.

Nope, SFO has been getting ANA 773 for some time now. I think it is a permanent arrangement.

actually from the NH website this is the schedule that was flown for the 777 into SFO:

San Francisco - Narita
Flight No. Period. Depart Arrive M T W T F S S Eqp Stops
NH007 3/26-4/1 1100 1500+1 772 None
4/2-4/10 1200 1500+1
4/11-6/30 1200 1500+1 773
7/1-9/30 1200 1500+1 772
10/1-10/28 1200 1500+1 773

so if its hard to read basically the 772 operated the flight from March 26- April 10, and July 1- September 30. The remaining time was the 773ER. However there could have been subs.

NH will be getting its &th & 7th 773ER before the start of NRT-ORD.
In its November schedule, NRT-LAX will be a combination of 773ER & 744 while NRT-SFO will be 772ER with a possible 773ER sub.

Just to add a correction. Not all Japan-European service is with a 777. NRT-MXP/FCO will remain a 744-service for the time being while the NRT-AMS will switch to 772ER starting winter schedule.

It is not possible for ANA to currently serve LAX, JFK, IAD, and SFO with just 5 aircraft. That would mean roughly 20 hours of utilization per day on each aircraft. It is only possible for 3 destinations. LAX, JFK, and IAD. ORD and SFO (permanently) are to come with the addition of more aircraft.

JAL has flies their 773ERs and 772ERs to Europe, but the 744 is still being used on some European destinations namely: AMS, MXP and FCO.

JAL flies its 773ERs on NRT-FRA, NRT-CDG and NRT-LHR, but also on other routes like NRT-DPS and NRT-KIX

JAL flies its 772ERs mostly from KIX to LHR, NGO-CDG and NRT-CDG and many other intra Asian routes
