Fly From London Stansted On The BA Website?

Sun Oct 01, 2006 8:30 pm

On the British Airways website, if you scroll down to where you want to fly from, it has London (Stansted) as an option. But BA do not fly from Stansted. I know they used to have a Citiexpress service to Manchester, but that was quite a few years ago now. You would have thought they would update that now surely?

There was also one to Waterford - I guess it was operated from STN as it didn't justify a LGW or LHR slot

Now this is interesting... the last time a new UK destination appeared on the drop down list was EMA, a few weeks before the new GT service to TFS was announced.

Perhaps an unexpected announcement of a new service from STN is on the cards?

I would've thought unlikely, but you never know.

Global Supply Systems who operate freight services on behalf of BA using747's from STN.

I can only think there is a list of airports used by website developers of all airlines.

I also see LTN is on the drop down list, and BA don't serve that anymore either.

There are no mainline services from Luton but there is a BA Connect service to the IOM 1 x Daily I think, though Skidmarks will know better.

Looks like to me he still had plenty of airspeed as he managed to tail strike once the spoilers deployed. I believe (although I am no expert) that had he been at or below stall speed, he would not have enough air flowing over the elevators to drag the tail down like that.

However, I once managed to tail bump a C-172 at 30 kts. So, most likely I am wrong.

Looks like StearmanNut isn't replying to the right thread nor the right planet!

Big grin  bigthumbsup   drunk   rotfl   spin

You made me drop my laptop from laughing so much. Maybe it's why he chose that name. Does he even know we are talking about him if he answered it wrong!

For a second I thought I was going crazy. I thought where am I, I thought this was about BA and STN!

They seem to just keep things on their website.

If you change the country of departure to France, you'll see Toulon on the drop down bit. TLN-LGW was stopped a few years ago.

Yeah. The old OLCI departure drop-down box contained lots of dead routes - Paris (Orly), anyone?!?

True. But I'm sure STN wasn't there last time I checked...

I'm based at STN, for the past 3 years, they'd done a couple of charters using E145s. But they currently don't fly from STN.

Hope it helps
