Taiwanese Airlines And BKK

Mon Oct 02, 2006 7:08 pm

I understand that historically and politically, Taiwanese airlines were not allowed to fly over Chinese territory. However, I thought that this has ended recently. Why do Taiwanese (EVA and China Airlines) airlines still fly to BKK before heading on to Europe? Is it just because more profit can be made with a stop in BKK before heading on to LHR or FCO or AMS?

I believe so. The traffic between Europe and Taiwan is so limited. It's amazing how many people fly EVA Air purely between LHR and BKK.
