This is just amazing.

Recently there has been talk of how JetBlue isn't doing as well in RIC as it was hoping to do. However, various airport officials and even government officials have criticized the public for not supporting B6 and FL as they are the reason for the lower fares at RIC. It just amazes me that the local media is even getting involved in the effort to bring more brand-awareness to B6. Three articles within hours of each other. Wow.

I have to say that the articles are very interesting. The one that talks about "Blue breakfasts" was actually a big surprise to me. It's also nice to see that they are having competitions to get more people to use the kiosks. The example about how they turned a late flight five minutes early was also nice to read.

Your thoughts?

all the articles appear in the business section of the paper and are by the same writer...which means it is beat coverage. it is possible that one or two of the articles could have been written as early as late late August or early September and they are just now finding themselves on the web edition. or it is possible that the articles are just not finding themselves in the published edition for space and copy editing reasons.

sometimes in "beat" reporting in business, financial, lifestyle or travel sections, etc., there will, from time to time be a trifecta report. this is a newspaper's way of being able to take time to feature a business that is a part of the community.

it's the same idea of a sports section on a Monday taking time to write four or five separate articles covering aspects of the big football game from the day before.

just a side note - every time i try to fly in or out of RIC (+10 times this year) on B6 it's been full and i've been bumped on my own airline. I end up on US/DL or FL to try and get home.

so from my point of view the loads may be up and down but they are def making money in RIC.
