Chasing planes in the big city
Plane-spotters in Houston have found ‘nirvana’ in the diversity of aircraft flying over the city’s skies

That'd be a good article to have a copy of when one is out spotting and a local LEO comes up to see what you're doing, and can't fathom why people would want to take pictures of aircraft.

Wow...! That old saying "any publicity is good publicity" certainly applies here.

While I applaud the publicity, how many people will read that article and be surprised that Manchester Airport is in London?! And London isn't the mecca for planespotting, England itself is...(in pure number of people spotting--the art of tail number collecting, not photographing)...

In early 2003, I was pictured and (mis)quoted in a Houston Chronicle article about a petition over the Lee Road spotting area closure. Shortly thereafter, I moved from the Houston area and never followed the issue.

If anyone has a link, I'd appreciate it. IIRC, the article appeared in some neighborhood sections, not general circulation.

when I took this photo, I made it to the local paper....unfortunately, it was courtesy of the local police department... spin
