Flyglobespan To Fly To JFK From Liverpool

Sat Oct 07, 2006 2:03 am

Hi all,

I don't know if this is posted...

I just got an email from flyglobespan regarding my booking for May 2007 from New York to Liverpool.

The original plan is to fly from Newark to Liverpool, but there is an airport change... it is flying from JFK instead (which works better with me...).

Interesting change...

This has been known for a few weeks. I'm surprised they took so long to email you. Various people ae saying this is due to a possible code-share with B6.

The Boeing 757 (thought to be ex-AA) will operate the route

Yeah the B6 rumour is that there may be a codshare agreement to tag onto GLA - BOS and LPL - JFK routes......this would be great news if it comes to fruition.

Anybody have a schedule for the times of these flights? I'm wondering what terminal they will use at JFK...

I suppose this works better for a lot of people, Ive always thought Id prefer JFK over EWR, and the B6 codeshare is certainly very interesting!

I don't really understand Flyglobespan's strategy here. With flights about to be launched form MAN to CPT and YYZ can they really develop 2 bases in the North West just 30 miles apart?

Nice, not keen on having LCC's transatlantic but I'd rather have flyglobespan than FR or anyone else

Exactly, so why operate to YYZ from MAN where there is direct competition?
I don't understand why JFK and YYZ are not both from LPL giving flyglobespan some kind of economies of scale and simplification of operations.

Much more "big gun" scheduled competition to North Eastern USA from MAN. GSM would get humped. US, BA, CO, DL etc.

This winter YYZ is served from MAN to give the B767 that flies to CPT something to do on a Friday

Next summer, GSM will fly to YHM from both LPL and MAN. However the MAN-YHM should be filled by passengers from Globespan Holidays which previously flew on Air Transat from MAN to YYZ.
