Hey...I'D like to see it as much as the NEXT guy! But B6 seems to be entrenched in the quest for flights in and out of ORD!

I think that the St. Louis area would support B6 immensely! But Chicago has a bigger O&D market...even though it's split among four carriers ALREADY! St. Louis is doing good supporting the service we have with two main carriers (AA and WN) - much of which is on regional jets.

ORD doesn't have a lot of gates, but tons of people. STL has the gates, but perhaps not ENOUGH people to support even marginal service.

I will still  crossfingers ...EVEN through my PESSIMISM!

IF B6 wants to be caught in the quagmire of ORD let them, I wish them much success. However, ORD does not have the slots available or gates to support a large scale focus operation. Hopefully Boeing Nut has already taken a picture of the JetBlue plane in STL today and has made a post card addressed to David N saying. "We would like to see more of these here. Signed :XOXO the STL metro area.

B6 aside there is still hope of AirTran, Frontier expansion, AA expansion- though doubtful,or maybe even Virgin America. On a side note it would be interesting to see Virgin America go into STL and take on AA since Carty was the one who purchased TWA and now sits on the BOD of Virgin America

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what JetBlue was doing at STL this morning. I saw the plane at the end of C during our takeoff roll....too late to get a picture.

The flight was a medical diversion, I just flew with a couple of the crewmembers that where on board that flight.

Why do they keep coming into St. Louis for these medical diversions? The couple of times it has happened they are usually up near the Quad Cities when this sort of thing happens.
if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport

That's a great question - I have often wondered what criteria are considered for a medical diversion. I would think it is "nearest city" or "nearest adequate facility" - I guess if you are over Quad Cities and something goes wrong, STL is a logic distance to fly to (assuming it is a westbound flight, of course).

They may be over the Quad Cities, but they are over them at 36,000 ft. Realistically thats 10-15 minutes to get down (unless I'm on fire... I can do it in about 5 minutes). Factor in the inital radio call to the company to coordinate medical and dispatch, that 15 minutes easily becomes 20. So now the realistic choices are take 20 minutes and circle down to MLI, or take 20 minutes and proceed to STL. Arrival time at both stations should be within a couple of minutes of each other. Then you can throw in the thoughts, "Does MLI have a jetway or airstairs that can handle an A320?" And STL becomes the clear winner.

Desperately. When you fly back and forth to Boston every christmas, American Airlines burns a hole thru our credit cards. Throw in the fact that neither of my folks will fly the ER3's and that they won't connect unless its absolutely necessary, there is one option for travel every year.
