Emirates Flight Questions...

Tue Oct 10, 2006 4:36 am

I have been looking into some flight information for my vacation back to the states, but the Emirates site isn't helping me because it doesn't seem to be working, so I figured the next best (maybe the first best) place to find out is a.net.

I am scheduled to fly
Dec 15 JNB-DXB
I believe that is supposed to be a 777-300ER. I was curious if anyone knew for sure.

Dec 16 DXB-JFK
I have no idea of the equipment type.

Okay, now a strange thing that I noticed on Emirates website was the 777-300ER ULR. That is what they had in their fleet section!

Anyway, thanks for any information. I am looking forward to flying on the 773, since I haven't flown on one yet.

B777-300ER - for sure.

EK203 & EK205: B777-300ER, EK201: A340-500.

Sounds strange, but they don't have a correct fleet section on their ICE entertainment system either...

That is good to hear! I just hope they have on demand movies in Y. That is one thing that I have loved about flying South African so much.

Looks like I am on the 340-500 then.

I look forward to adding two new plane types to my list and a new airline.

Interesting. I am curious where they go that equipment type. They just wanted to come up with a "cool" name?  Smile

Thanks for the information!

Don't worry, both EK's B777-300ERs and the A345-500 are equipped with "ICE" - currently the world's most advanced entertainment system! You'll find some 150 movies alone, plus 6,000 (!) music tracks and so much more.

B77W and A345 looks like a perfect combination.

It was a mistake most likely.

Btw - if you're interested in reading more about "ICE" and EK's A345, have a look at my recent trip report:

Checking it out right now! Thanks!

I couldn't be any happier! Well, unless I was flying business of first!  Smile

On that note, I figure I won't get much sleep, and will likely get caught up on all the movies that I haven't seen in the last (what will be) 9 months. Only downside is that I really enjoy watching movies and not sleeping on flights. That can be a problem when flying for about 36 hours.

Again, thanks!
