Concorde Schedules For IAD

I was wondering, way back when Air France and British Airways operated Concordes on a regular basis into IAD, what was the frequency per week. Was it daily, multiple times weekly?

When I worked at the IMF during college, I frequently heard from co-workers who traveled for the organization that AF and BA offered one-way Concorde upgrades for IMF staff that traveled on full-fare business or first class tickets. Apparently, the Fund paid for travel so much on both airlines, both airlines offered the Concorde as an incentive.

I know at some point, BA and AF terminated flights on Concorde and focused solely on JFK. At that point, BA offered a special flight from DCA to JFK on a USAir prop-plane designated only for Concorde passengers from Washington, DC. However, I don't know when that was or how long it was in place.

I don't know anything about the subject of your post.

But I do remember that it was in 1976 that I first saw the Concorde at IAD.

My family went on an east coast vacation for the bi-centennial and a stop at IAD to see the great Concorde was as high on the list as visiting the Statue of Liberty.
Tired of airline bankruptcies....EA/PA/TW and finally DL.

BA and AF, both started their first US routes, to IAD, on 21 May 1976.
Both were 3 x weekly.
AF terminated theirs in 1982.
BA carried on until November 1994-a year before I took my first Concorde flight, as an IAD-LHR; BA Concorde, IAD-LHR In 1993 (by GDB May 25 2003 in Trip Reports)

From 1984 to 1991, the BA service had an extension to MIA-overwater so supersonic.
Previously, both BA and AF had overland (Mach 0.95) extensions to DFW, with Braniff crews for this leg.
Requiring temp US registrations for this.
These operated in 1979-80.

BA did a further (all BA operated), DFW extension in summer 1988.

IMF 'charters', as mentioned above, carried on right up to 1999, here is the BA operation then-with the rest of the flying programme for clarity, with scheduled dept times (LHR local), reg, flight no. route;

12.45 / G-BOAD / BA9060C / BOS-LHR-Ryder Cup charter as planned.
13.45 / G-BOAG / BA002 / JFK-LHR-Now fixed Tech aircraft.
17.50 / G-BOAA / BA1216 / IAD-LHR
18.45 / G-BOAF / BA004 / JFK-LHR
19.00 / G-BOAC / BA003 / LHR-JFK

IAD also saw some charters start there, such as the BA 'African Queen' tour in Feb/Mar 2000, to pick up pax before operating the charter.

Washington saw Concorde movements on VIP charters to ADW, such as PM Tony Blair visiting the US Presidents in Feb 1998 and on 7th November 2001-the latter also being the relaunch of Concorde services with OAE going to JFK as a BA001.
