UA does ORD-SJU and IAD-SAN which are long legs for the A320. My friend who is a UA Captain for the 320 told me that the IAD-SAN route is the longest route UA's 320 operate on. I can tell you his name on request.

Yeah. They also run a 737-700 on the route. I was shocked the first time I heard that the could do that. The one that really astounds me is ZRH-IAH in a 737-700!!

You'd be surprised how far narrowbodies can fly when seating capacity is limited! Although I'm not sure if they take the excess luggage space and add fuel capacity on their planes or not.

I agree...I guess they don't require as much cargo space when your only flying a couple dozen people, hence the extra fuel tanks.

PIT-LAX, thats nothing my friend. B6 BOS-LGB is an hour longer then that.

MCOFlyer: Don't need his name. I can tell you he is wrong. IAD-SFO is longer then IAD-SAN by 166 miles. Also, right now the SAN service is done by a A319 and not a A320 (is we are just including 320 as the title says).

Longest A320 route in the US I can find is JetBlue BOS-LGB 2597 mi, 6hr 05 min.

I may be missing one

But all these routes flown by PrivatAir is flown using 319LR and BBJ1 so you cant really compare it to a regular 319 or 737

When making comparisons about the longest ranges these aircraft fly,one needs to distinguish between scheduled commerical passenger flights and speciality business only flights. There is no point in comparing apples and oranges for a true representation of some of the extreme ranges these aircraft fly. I find long range routes operated by scheduled commercial passenger aircraft very interesting as they truely test the limits of endurance and make for much fairer comparisons.

It has auxillary fuel tanks (adding a large amount of fuel capacity). It also has the uprated engines from the 738/739.

MyTravel Airways Scandinavia pack in 177 pax in their A320 and fly OSL-LPA which is 4,105km, 2,551miles, 2217nm and takes 5hrs 40mins.

Same goes for their 211-seat A321. Not too shabby, that...

BMED flies A320s LHR to Freetown, in Sierra Leone. There is, however, like many BMED routes, a 'technical stop' on this 8h 45min route.

BMED does fly some long non-stop A320 legs:

LHR-THR: 2749 miles and 5h 50mins

LHR-DKR: 2703 miles and 6h 20mins

LHR-BAK: 2493 miles and 5h 31mins

I believe B6 is always pushing the A320 on that route. My friend flies IAD-SAN 6x a year. According to him, thats the longest A320 route though I have seen the A320 on MCO-SFO.

CUN-YYC (AC) 2540 mi (A319)

Couple of long ones I found for North American routes....

United does BOS - LAX on the 319 and/or 320. A friend of mine said last winter that one of their BOS-LAX trips took 7:15 because of extremely heavy headwinds. I thought that was pretty long for a scheduled carrier flight. Nothing compared to Privatair flights, I guess.

Not that much longer, if you consider that the block time for the DUS-EWR flight is only 8h 40 mins and 7h 35mins for EWR-DUS.

JetBlue flies BOS-LGB as well with A320, but this is not as far as BOS-OAK. It is my understanding that this is one of the longest scheduled A320 flights in the world, certainly within the USA.

Yeah, and that flight was basically regularly stopping at MSP all summer to refuel.

Grossly exaggerated on this forum.
I am not going to argue that there were a few days where SOME of the flights had to stop (not ALL and not ALL SUMMER). Besides, on those days, other airlines were making refueling stops too. BUR has more frequent refueling stops but there are other issues that make A320 East Coast operations challenging from that airport.

For Mexican carriers, the longest A32X flight is, if I am not mistaken, MX's MEX-YVR with a combo of A318's and A319's. How long does the flight take? 5:30, 5:45?
Next flights: MEX-LAX AM 738, LAX-PVG DL 77L, SHA-PEK CA 789, PEK-PVG CA A332, PVG-ORD MU 77W, ORD-MEX AM 738

The UK charter airlines like to stretch the feet of their A320's to the limit...

They fly the aircraft in a 180 passenger all Y config.

Routes I am aware of are:

LTN-SSH (Sharm El Shiekh, Egypt) - 2403 miles - First Choice Airlines

LGW-BJL (Banjul, Gambia) - 2764 miles - Thomas Cook Airlines

To the best of by knowledge these aircrafts to not fly with restrictions.
