Continental to Post 3rd-Quarter Profit
NEW YORK (AP) - Continental Airlines Inc. said Wednesday it will post a third-quarter profit and has built up $100 million for its employee profit-sharing plan so far this year.
The company did not give specifics for its anticipated third-quarter profit in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Wall Street is expecting a quarterly profit of $1.25 per share, according to an analyst poll by Thomson Financial.
In its filing, Continental said it can't yet say how much employees will receive on Feb. 14 through their profit-sharing plan. That amount depends on the company's full-year results.
Continental shares rose 13 cents to $31.91 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
