Wed Oct 18, 2006 12:23 am

Iraqi Airways fleet will be going from the 9L- to EC- register.Possibly since all 9L- planes are banned to operate in Europe. Sierra
Leone registry is banned from EU.Further info will follow.

Very interesting news!

Do they plan to increase services? What happened to the 767?

They use Amman as a hub for the moment then they fly to Baghdad whenever a flight is to be operated but then they sleep in Jordan.

This aircraft wear now the registration J2-KCN (ex. 9L-LFF) and is stored at Amman (AMM).

Why is the registration 9L still prohibited? Is it maintenance issues?

And by the way, if one is flying to Baghdad, is the code still SDA? I would have thought THAT would have been the first thing to go!!

They can't hub out of SDA? I've never understood this business of hubbing outside your target destination (what ME did in LCA back in the 80's and early 90's). Plus, why does RJ allow this? They only suffer from more competition on their home turf.
