SW is the IATA designator for Air Namibia.

Because WN is NW reversed, which is as true financially as it is alphabetically.

Of course, "SW" is already taken by Air Namibia, which has dibs on the letters and didn't want to be associated with a US-based LCC.

i think that they were given this nonstandard code back when they were designated an "intrastate carrier" by the now defunct C.A.B. and this may have been one of their ways to differentiate from 'normal" airlines!

The original code for Southwest was OE. In the early- to mid-1970s, they wanted a code that had a "W" in it, and "WN" was the only one available that did. The "WN" doesn't stand for anything, and has no other significance.

Didnt want to be associated with a US-based LCC? Umm.. What? That makes ZERO sense. Why would they be associated in any way to begin with? Besides, Air Namibia should be so lucky.

You missed one ... how about ..... oWN
which Southwest could easily do to your revered USAirways in a second, if it wanted to. (Not that it would).

Just a little trivia,Air Namibia SW has it's airline code derived more from the country's previous name South West Africa.

I know - I was being sarcastic. I mean, really, what the hell is Air Namibia? Did they have "SW" before Southwest was around? Maybe, I don't know.
