Piper Warrior Crash B.C.- Drug Smuggling?

Thu Oct 19, 2006 2:38 pm

A Piper Warrior crashed approx 50 km S.E. of Vernon, B.C. (YVK) last night, killing the pilot who was the only person onboard. According to R.C.M.P.. it had cargo of interest on board, was flying at night without a flight plan, and had apparently originated south of the border. Speculations are this aircraft was used in smuggling drugs and/or other contraband, as the crash occurred where several abandoned helicopters and other aircraft have been located over the past few years in the Vernon area with no sign of anyone trying to retrieve them.

Anyone else with anymore info....
