A350 Ad In Flight International Magazine

Fri Oct 20, 2006 7:18 am

I was browsing through the magazine when I came across a very nice ad for the A350 and that is going to be using a new technology and its going to be the future of flight. They also noted that its the offspring of the A380.
This the most recent issue of the magazine.

This probably means that Airbus is still going ahead with the program.

Any comments?

is going to be using a new technology

Did it say what the new technology is?

I imagine the copy is reminiscent of the ads for the old A350. Maybe they should rename it the A360.

Well, they were saying, "the most advanced twin" in old A350 ads. I wouldn't say the ad itself means anything about their decision to go ahead...

Not really. Print advertising has to be done well in advance of the actual magazine being printed and shipped.

I also saw huge banner ads for the A350 in the check-in area at DUB on Oct 5th. Can't remember exactly what they said...

Ads for the A350XWB, like those for the original A350, run ad nauseum in both FI and AW&ST. They're very splashy and pretty, although less informative than I'd prefer, a trait often shared by Boeing ads, as well. My reaction is basically that Airbus really should divert some of the cost of running these ads every week, which must be huge, into fixing some of its issues. Most industry insiders know enough about the new A350 that they don't need to be reminded on a weekly basis. Boeing does not run its 787 ads nearly to the extent Airbus runs A350 copy; then again, they don't really need to, do they?
