Which Airlines Can I Use To Fly DCA-ACY

Fri Oct 20, 2006 3:57 pm

I tried to lookup flights on both Comair and Spirit, but was unable to find any days where I could fly easily from DCA to ACY. Is there any alternative carrier that covers either IAD, DCA, BWI to ACY ? I need to go back/forth several times in the next few months on business and travel by car (3.5 to 4.5 hours + tolls), bus (4.5 hours with transfers), train (3.0 to 4.5 hours with change) really eats up the whole day. What cities are directly connected to ACY ?

It may wind up being quicker to drive. I thought DL Conection had a few weekly flights from IAD or DCA to ACY but they may have been cut. ACY has the following service that I am aware of.

NK:
DTW
MCO
PBI (Seasonal)
FLL
MYR
TPA

DL:
ATL
CVG (Soon to be cut if it already hasn't been.)
MCO

Your best bet is on DL but the timings sort of kill the day and it will take you much longer than it would to make the drive. The routing would be IAD/DCA-ATL-ACY.

Hope that helps!

DL did run a flight DCA-ACY for a while but it quietly disappeared. This was about two years ago. Right now, your only option is to do the DCA-ATL-ACY which will involve a forced connection and about 5-6 hours travel time (slightly more than driving it if you hit traffic just right). Are you headed up there for the Tech Center?

There's no non-stops on any carrier.

If you MUST fly, unfortunately DL via ATL is your only really decent option.

Try this: www.amtrak.com

Washington Union Station through 30th Street Station in Philly and on to Atlantic City . . .

Better Ride, Same amount of time generally, much less headache.

Then there's this.  Smile I was going to mention it but the whole aviation website thing.... Big grin

Just remember.. if it snows, you're stuck in Philly. The connection to Atlantic City is on NJ Transit and has a tendancy to not go if there's a lot of snow in the Pinelands.

If you don't want to drive all the way, you could fly DCA-PHL and drive the rest of the way, or take Septa from PHL-30th St then NJ Transit 30th St-AC

Why bother? That's barely 100 nm.

For the amount of time and hassle to fly DCA-PHL then get a transfer to 30th St Station, then get on the NJ Transit Train, you might as well have driven it. DCA-PHL is nice and expensive as well which doesn't help.  Sad
