Thomsonfly B763 Fault?

Sat Oct 21, 2006 1:35 am

Okay... don't slate me for once again reporting severe delays, but I genuinely want to know what the problem is with this one!

Thomsonfly's POP-CWL flight was scheduled to land at 0630 on Thursday morning, it's estimated to land at 0520 tomorrow morning! Evidently, there's some serious fault occuring, which I assume, is something with the aircraft, as it's had a knock-on effect to the BHX-SFB-BHX operation today!

Any replies much appreciated  Smile

Whilst I'm on the case... CWL's SFB flight with MON has also been severely delayed (in excess of 24 hours at the moment!), any reasons for this one?

Well you did sort of answer the questions.

Clearly its not for any other reason than a technical fault, probably something that requires parts from Boeing.

Would you blame the poor thing with all the use it gets and the amount of people onboard everytime. Airlines like TFly dont look after the aircraft in this way, unlike another airline namely FCA.

There could also be aproblem with the "drivers" hours!.
The flight will arrive 9 hours late from Sanford so they must have found a new plane and crew

The delay in SFB with MON has nothing to do with tech problems...it was a scheduled downgrade from an A330 to an A300, and due to crew rest it remained overnight in SFB and will be leaving here in about an hour.

Ive noticed alot of long delays for the past 2 - 3 days with thomsonfly. I would have thought that their punctuality for this summer must have been the worst for many years but at the moment they are showing second on the league table below mytravel although this is not the whole summer season recorded yet until the end of october.

POP-CWL GOBYJ delayed due tech - hydraulic leak. Part flown out (took several hours) then when fixed, engineers found another problem.
YJ eventually arrived back 0600 SAT morning! 2 days late!!
This obviously affected Thurs CWL-SFB departure. GOBYI was the replacement, which went tech in MAN!!
Meanwhile..... Monarchs CWL-SFB (GEOMA) was running late because of weather in PFO the night before. On pushing back in LGW quite a big engine prob discovered.
Monarch rebooked all pax onto TOM's SFB (neither flights were busy)

TOM pax then bussed to MAN because YI wasnt fixed.
SFB flight (MON + TOM combined) eventually left approx 2100 from MAN
Original dep times - MON-08300 TOM-1130

A300 a/c sent to SFB by MON to bring their inbound pax back.

TOM's CWL and BHX 763's normally swap in SFB. So the inbound TOM SFB-CWL was ontime, SFB-BHX delayed as a result of the knock-on CWL(MAN)-SFB

Hope that clears that one up! Big grin

Whilst on the subject, according to crew member, over those few days TOM approx 10-12 a/c tech resulting in severe delays for some flights

Cracked windsheild found on arrival into LGW, nothing to do with engines. A300 subbing whlist it is fixed. 767 G-DIMB had to have engine change at MAN last week, A300 down at MAN due to subbing for G-EOMA. So MAN flights being split into 2 using 757 and A320 equipment. Its not just BY in trouble, MON have been bad recently.

ZB613 today, STA0450, ATA1524 G-OZBJ due to knock on delay and crew out of hours.
