The Caption for this picture states this:

Great Wall Airlines suspended operations in August, after only 79 days of operation. The United States filed sanctions among Singapore Airlines/Great Wall Airlines due to a suspicious activity for supplying Iran with nuclear supplies. The aircraft is seen in a hybrid livery with both airlines markings.

I never herd anything about this...is this true? I would think it would be huge news?

The title of the thread appears to be misleading.

The article in reply 1 says: "Great Wall Airlines Company Limited, a cargo airline owned jointly by a Singaporean and a Chinese army (People's Liberation Army, or PLA) company... Great Wall Airlines is based in Shanghai and has a fleet of two Boeing B747-400 freighters on lease from Singapore Airlines Cargo."

It appears that the only link between Great Wall and SQ is that the former has leased two airplanes from the latter. It could be, of course, that the Singaporean businessman who co-owns Great Wall also has shares in SQ, but that does not mean that SQ has any connections to Great Wall.

The news article is wrong. The issue is the parent company, Great Wall Transportation allegedly attempted to provide Iran with GPS equipment which could be used for missle guidance. Great Wall Airlines is a subsidiary of GW Transport and is covered by the ban. GW Airlines is 25% owned by SQ Cargo, 24% owned by Tamasek Holdings and 51% Great Wall Transport.

SFE and SFH are back with SQ Cargo in their hybred liveries.
