The question may sound a little presumptous, but Qatar Airways has numerous code share agreements in place with other Star Aliiance members to help supplement their route network.
Code Share Agreements Qatar Airways has who are members of Star Alliance:
Air China* (Due to become a member in 2007)
To me this sounds like the natural way forward for the airline and an airline like Qatar Airways must be on any alliances wish list...
Star Alliance does not have a Middle East partner and this along with northern/central Africa is one of the only areas of the globe they don't have covered.
Or would it be the case, that airlines like Qatar and Emirates are growing at such phenominal rates, they don't have a need for alliances?
