Boeing 767 Enhanced Interior-which Airlines?

Thu Oct 26, 2006 8:15 pm

Hi to you all, just come across an older Boeing press-release:

"Thomsonfly.com is the launch customer for the new Boeing 757-200 and 767-200 Enhanced Interior Package."
http://www.boeing.com/commercial/767...amily/news/2005/q1/nr_050309g.html

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures... So, do they have the new interrior?? any pictures??

well, which other airlines beside Thomsonfly and FirstChoice have re-conf. B767??

And why doesn't have MAXjet or Air Canada new interiors???

OK, from the picture it looks like it is getting fit with the "Signature Interior" from Boeing. Originally came out for its 777 fleet, it has been fitted, as a standard, to the 744ER (for QF), last 4 744PAX (for CI), and the 764 (for DL/CO, although DL's 764 does not have IFE). Expect higher ceiling, better lighting and generally a roomier feeling.
Also I believe MAXjet was the all-business class aircraft? No sense installing all-business class seat except on high-yield market like NYC-LON.

LA, HA, UA and Silverjet are getting 763 reconfigured with the Heath Tecna Nu-Look interior which is similar to the Boeing "Signature Interior" and just as nice (maybe a little nicer).

The 767-200's that Silverjet are getting from Thomsonfly are already installed with the Nu-look interior.

The First Choice interior is NOT the same as the Boeing Signature Interior as found on Delta/Continental 767-400ERs. The outer bins are the shelf type, not the pivot type. The First Choice interiors are a modified form of the original 767 interior, but with more curves, giving the cabin a more modern appearance:

With the older interior, passengers won't trying to bring their bedroom on board cause it won't fit. I am in agreement. Big grin I hated working gates for precisely that problem.

9 of the 58 767-300's at American are configured with the new interiors, those are the nine ordered from Boeing in the early 2000's to replace the 9 former TWA 763's. It doesn't look like the remaining 49 300's will be refurbished with the new style interiors.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I think if the registration ends with AN instead of AA then you are likely to be in a new style interior 767.

I'm wondering if any of the 200's still in service do have those interiors, the majority don't but maybe the ones at Continental do because those were built not too long ago. I know American's 767-200's won't receive the new style interiors, they date from the 80's.
Anyone flew on a Continental 767-200?

Continental 762s have the new style interior with some of the 777s features.

I also think Hainan (HU) has those interiors for the 763s flying to BUD and BRU (B-2490 & 2491 but I could be wrong).

While I have never flown on one, Continental's 767-200s do have the Boeing Signature Interior.

What other airlines using the 767-200 have them with the Signature Interior?

BTW, Delta has been refurbishing the interiors of their 767-300s. Aside from the new signage and leather seat covers, the aircraft also have fluorescent lavatory/No Smoking/Fasten Seat Belt signs. The lavatory signs are now symbol-based rather than text-based. However, the overhead bins are the same as they always were. It would be nice if Delta would add the retrofit that First Choice has, or the Heath Tecna 767 NuLook package. Around 2000, Delta has updated the bins on their MD-88s and 757s.

The 9 767-300s American received in 2003/4 feature the Boeing Signature interior. I hear AA is going to fit the rest of the fleet with the new interiors (part of the J Class Refurb IIRC).

AA is going to refit the front half of their 763s with the new look interior. Basically the entire business class, and the small front economy section will have the new look interior, while economy from the overwing exits back will have the old interior. It's a shame they can't do the entire aircraft, but at least the appearance in business class will be improved.

Very cool. I didn't know that there was a cockpit upgrade for the B767. Do you know which airlines have gone for it?

Thanks!

ABX Air is the launch customer for this STC. Their ex-DL 762's are being converted by the Bedek Group in Tel Aviv, that's where the mod is being installed. The software and systems are also upgraded - it's a 737NG type avionics package. Truly amazing to see it in action.

Which company is AA getting its new 763 interiors for their new business class sections from? Boeing, or heathtechna?

I just went to the heathtechna website and saw that they're offering both 'swingdown' 777 type bins and 'new door' type bins for the 767 depending on how much cash you wanna spend and how much time u want the aircraft out of service. Any news on which type UAL etc are going for? I hope its the swingdown type ones because they look so much better and increase the capacity significantly.

Based on what I have found, I have noticed that AA's 767s with the new Business Class interior have the 777-style bins, but the original 767-style PSUs:

As you should be able to see, the PSUs on the AA 767 (the image on the left) with the new Business Class are more square-shaped than those on the 767-400ER (the image on the right), which are more rounded.

Those are some nice looking interiors, especially for a charter carrier! Very impressive.

So, as I understand it, there's the "Boeing Signature Interior" which is the 'wavy-line' 777-esqe interior, then the "Boeing Enhanced Interior" which is the new curvy bins, but still the same shelf-type rather than pivot-type bins.

The 777 syle psu runs have individual components for gasper, lights, oxygen, etc. where the old 767 style combines all those features in a single assembly.

All DL widebodies plus 757s, MD90s, and 738s have in flight entertainment (IFE) although up to this point it has been predominantly been common screens. However, all 764s have inseat IFE in F class although it is not on demand. When the 764s go in for their mods, the whole plane will get in seat audio video on demand (AVOD).
