America West In El Salvador?

Fri Oct 27, 2006 4:14 pm

America West currently has a flight scheduled from El Salvador to TUS. I know it has to stop in TUS for customs, but HP does not serve El Salvador. I remember a few months ago another flight on this route was scheduled at the same time. El Salvador-TUS at night, then to PHX to start the next day. Do they get maintenance done down there?

Yes HP does outsource most of their heavier mx checks to Aeroman (the Mx wing of Grupo Taca) in El Salvador.

I would expect HP (now US) to get good loads if they were to fly PHX-SAL someday; Even CLT-SAL - but not daily - could work.
I don't work for COPA Airlines!

Aeroman also has done work for JetBlue. I'm not sure if they are currently though.

bouncy  Another carrier in SAL will be very appreciated, it was sad to see the old US drop their service.

But I still don't see a flight to SAL in their near future, will be great  bigthumbsup  but the airline is still short of planes.

Yes, they still perform maintenence on our A320 fleet. The lucky pilots get a long layover in San Salvador as well!
