Helvetic To Fly ZRH-MAN For Swiss

Sun Oct 29, 2006 7:55 pm

As I'm sure many of you know, Swiss recently decided to lease a Fokker 100, with crew, from Helvetic. According to the new timetable, they will use this aircraft on the 3 daily rotations from Zurich to Manchester, for the timebeing at least.

Greetings

I once flew in these F 100 from Helvetic. They are really nice aircrafts and comfortable. I liked it. Very good for the Manchester route, better than the AVROs.

Sorry Viasa if I'm repeating old information. I did search the forum before I posted and couldn't find any mention of it in previous posts. It seems the timings of the Manchester flights were changed slightly to allow one aircraft to operate them all.

It seems to be more difficult these days to search for bits of information.......at least, I haven't quite worked out how to do it  Angry

On a slightly different but related note, in order to compete more effectively with AB on the Hamburg route, LX will be using an A. 319 to Hamburg from January on. However, I noticed that since the the winter schedule came in to effect today, LX will be using a B. 737-500 from Cirrus on the route throughout November instead of the Avros!

I'm not sure though, if this is still to do with the pilot shortage in the regional fleet, which is also why Helvetic will be operating to MAN for LX, or if there's another reason for this.
