OS Equipment Change

Mon Oct 30, 2006 3:30 am

Why is OS changing its A332 to a B763 from IAD-VIE? I was looking for flights and the equipment around New Years is a 767. I am assuming not a lot of volume during winter months?

I read that IAD-VIE will be upgraded to the 777-200. I'm guessing this will happen after the winter season.

Correct.

During the summer 332 was the default equipment altough I was lucky to take a 342 ride on this route earlier this year.
I am scheduled on one of those 763 flights in December. Can't quite imagine how they put 258 seats (24+234) on that plane. Oooch, this is going to hurt.

The cabin looks quiet comfy in this photo.

The change from the 332 to the 763 isn't much of a decrease, infact a 1 seat decrease  Wink

A330-200 - 24C, 235Y
767-300ER - 24C, 234Y

ive flown on the OS 767-300ER from DEL-VIE, it was a little cramped (im tall) as opposed to the airbus 330-200, so yes Konrad, it does hurt. I wouldn't mind a 777 from IAD-VIE though, when is that happening -spring or summer?

Sorry but A/C that originally belonged to Lauda Air are almost never used on transatlantic runs, b/c they do not have enough business class seats. The 767's that originally belong to OS are used on transatlantic runs.
From what i heard a couple of months ago, 2 are refurbished with 777 style interiors & 2 other are still in the old interiors. I will be flying them in 3 weeks. And i hope i get to fly the newly refurbished A/C.

I was under the impression that the 767-300s all belonged to Lauda?
