Iran Air used to operate up to 3 B747-200F, back in the 80s.
They were EP-ICA / EP-ICB / EP-ICC

EP-ICB was sold in 1991 to Saha Airlines as EP-SHA
EP-ICA was sold in 1996 to Saha Airlines as EP-SHH

EP-ICC remained active until early 2000. It was then retired because of the lack of spares, and is now sitting on the tarmac at Mehrabad, waiting for better (or worse ?) days.

with the recent lift in aircraft parts sanction, Is it possible that some of IR's B747's come back online?

Maybe for the few PAX aircraft still in service ... and for the last -SP (EP-IAD) ! but not for this Freighter.
What Iran Air needs now is not just spares, for its 30+ years old aircraft.
It's a complete true fleet renewal plan.

I am not sure the information is very accurate.
It could be a flight operated by another Freighter airline on behalf of IranAir.

The three B747-2J9Fs were ordered by the Imperial Iranian Air Force (IIAF), hence the Boeing customer code "J9". They were subsequently transfered to Iran Air, which was a fully government owned company. Only Charlie Charlie stayed for any length of time and was eventualy retired at THR. Charlie Alpha and Charlie Bravo were transfered back to the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) and operated by their "civilian" division, known by its Persian acronym (SAHA). Incidently, the fourth B747-2J9F was never delieverd due to the worsening relationship between the American and Iranian regimes and was eventually delievered to Northwest Airlines.
