Embraers To Australia

Tue Oct 31, 2006 6:43 am

From FI (haven't seen it here):

Australian charter start-up Sky Air World is poised to become Australia's first Embraer regional jet operator. The carrier is in the final stages of consummating a deal with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) for the lease of two Embraer 170s and two 190s, writes Leithen Francis in Singapore.

- base: Brisbane
- flying: mining, tourism, military and ops for airlines in the South Pacific

Based on this info it sounds like a venture with comparably good chances IMO. Flying into mining towns is certainly a good option these days, tourism anyway. Military I can't judge - wet-lease ops for other airlines in the area certainly. Indicates that they will go for the LR versions of both birds.

It would be great to see E-jets in Australia! Do they already have a livery? Any more info on this airline from our Australian friends?

Yeah! Another E-Jet operator.

Why lease E190's...they could just have JetBlue's...hehe.
