Hey, it looks like things are picking up for FL at RIC. Great news for them and RIC.

Beverley "Booty" Armstrong, Chairman of the Capital Regional Airport Commission.

my mind spins for promotional tie-ins
if assumptions could fly, airliners.net would be the world's busiest airport

Here is the expanded article that appeared in the Richmond Times Dispatch today. Great news for both Air Tran and jetBlue.

Sounds good. It just takes time to come in as a new entrant (even LCC), fill the planes and develop a steady following; especially when some competition is trying to blanket your frequencies and dump seats with a B757.  Wink

Both FL and B6 offer superior products of good value and luckily it appears that passengers are starting to notice in RIC.

You've got to give credit to the marketing efforts of both carriers who are continuing to fight the up-hill battle to win over passengers and find new ones.

Sounds like the complete opposite to me... Airtran and Jetblue came in trying to blanket the legacies' frequencies, namely Delta.
The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

This past week, I have seen several jetBlue commercials during the 11pm news casts promoting their service from RIC to BOS and JFK for $49.00 each way. I haven't checked it yet online, it must be during the week.

I am very happy to see that the LCCs are doing better. This is what we all wanted in the first place. I still think FL should consider service to MDW in the not too distant future. I know Chicago is like the 3rd most popular destination out or RIC. I can't imagine anyone wouldn't jump at the opportunity to avoid ORD. Except for their frequent flyer miles I suppose
