LAS Is The New Southwest Airlines Crew Base

Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:14 pm

Hello All,

As stated in my last post which, needed to be deleted and re-posted for content, it's official and was announced to all employees! Since I'm re-posting anyway, I'll state not only that most FAs will be happy to see this overnight go away, but also that the overnight was disliked by many because of the often undesirable hotels used by by WN crews while in LAS.  bigthumbsup  This base opening is expected in the fall of 2007.

Cheers,

MJL

I would have thought this was already a crew base.

out of curiosity, what hotels do they use?

I would think Las Vegas would be a fun place to overnight. Lots of stuff to do and the airport is close to the city, so even a hotel closer to the airport is close to nightlife, dining, etc.

Someone mentioned Circus Circus last thread. Ick. I feel sorry for the WN crews.

and there have also been worse hotels used...if u can believe that!  vomit  As said......I'll be happy if I never overnight there again! Not that it's WN's fault as the nice hotels are extremely expensive and don't want crew business when they can get alot of $$$ from high rollers as well.

Cheers

Awesome! I've been waiting for this news. Hopefully it won't be so senior that once I get hired I can be based there.
