Air Scotland: Still Flying?

Mon Nov 06, 2006 3:31 am

Hi to you all,

sorry I couldn't open an earlier topic...  angel

On Nov. 5th 2006 the inaugurational service to Las Palmas was planned to go ahead- from Glasgow and Manchester!

But I can't track down ANY departure or arrival of AirScotland and the service is no longer bookable...  Wow!

So did the new service started? where is SX-BLX now (stored)?

Cheers chris

Doesn't seem to have happened does it?

But of a mystery to be honest, they were flying as normal up until the end of the summer season so I don't understand why they've suddenly stopped? Can't find any news articles either!

If you go onto their website the aircraft is now available for ACMI lease. They appear to have stopped scheduled flights for the Winter.

No Summer timetable announced yet either.

I saw that A320 at MAN last week. I was in the airport pub as she was landing.

Obviously they are doing something still?

Yes, they were originally supposed to have 2, but only ended up with 1 in the end which resulted in them dropping numerous routes. They've been using their sole A320 for summer GRO flights, don't know why they've suddenly stopped all the winter flights though?

Wasn't there some debarcle at BCN a week or so aggo when the flight to MAN was prevented from taking off because fuel couldn't be paid for? Certainly that is what one of the passengers told us on arrival at MAN, not sure if there is anything to it though.
