SDF is going to be the first CRJ base along with IAH. Also expect the ERJ's to fly out of the SDF base. Beyond that, no news on cities from corporate.

I'm confused. I knew RP was starting flights for Continental, but I was under the impression RP only flew ERJ's. Can anyone clarify? thanks.

We have taken delivery of our first 2 CRJ's. They going on proving runs currently. We at SDF are all having to do the CRJ transition training. And it is mandatory. All other bases will be optional. The ERJ is the mainstay of our fleet, however the CRJ gives us another option. STL is supposes to get the CRJ as well as CMH and IND.

I think this is a mistake with the SkyTeam alliance.

Why do they need to create a seperate fleet type? You would think they can adjust with the E-135 to the E-145 if they need to have options. It just seems like an expensive option to take.

From the November 9 Form 10-Q:
In July 2006, the Company announced that it had reached an agreement to operate forty-four 50-seat regional jets for Continental Airlines, Inc. Twenty of the aircraft are ERJ-145 regional jets that will be transitioned from the Company's current US Airways operations. The Company expects the remaining 24 aircraft to be used CRJ-200 regional jets, acquired on short-term operating leases consistent with the terms of the Continental agreement. All 44 of the aircraft are expected to be placed into service for Continental between January and July 2007 and will be operated for terms that vary from two years to five years. Under certain conditions Continental may extend the term on the aircraft up to five additional years.

I understand on their quarterly earnings call it was mentioned the airline agreed to lease 12 CRJs and has a letter of intent to lease another 12 CRJs, of which 14 are ex-Independence Air aircraft.

That's actually pretty good news for pax (as well as for DH's lessor who got stuck with the birds). They are some of the most comfortable -200s out there.

I second that. I wonder if they plan on keeping the DH interior and seats? The seats were very comfortable.

SkyTeam preferes the RJ be CRJ's.

Personally, I do not like the CRJ's.

You would think RP would order another batch of E-series jets.

How so?

CO: ERJ
NW: CRJ
DL: Both
KL: Neither
AF: Both
SU: Neither
AZ: ERJ
AM: ERJ (operated by 5D)
OK: Neither

So we have 5 ERJ operators and 3 CRJ operators out of the 9 full members.

Crew planning is saying that STL will get the first ERJs for CO not CRJs as the MX in STL are not trained on the CRJ.
