Looks ok but still not as good as other airlines websites. Wish they would incorporate a calender into where you book the flights. Makes it so much easier.

I think all Belgian aviation enthusiasts will stop breathing when seeing you post ! Indeed, we are all waiting today as well for the unveiling of Brussels Airlines (BA in short !) new corporate image, replacing SNBA/Virgin Express ones. So far, www.brusselsairlines.com doesn't appear to work...

Great, launched at last.
Very easy to navigate. I use the site at work all the site at work all the time, and looks like i can use it alot more now

Quoting Tomcat, everyone, even Belgians will know BA stands for British Airways. Hopefully SN will stay SN

Looks nice and fresh, shame it isn't all that sophisticated though, hasn't even got a drop down menu etc,

I can hardly think of any other airline website better than BA's.

I agree.

I agree.

In my opinion, it s a very simple website. Too simple for such a big player in the airline industry. I expected something more innovative and outstanding.

Is not being simple and easy to navigate the objective? After all not every potential passenger spends a fair proportion of their leisure time on the Internet.

My guess is that these days if you are not yet a big player in the airline industry and you have an all singing, all dancing and far from simple web site you will never become a big player in the airline industry.

Please remember not a lot of people really still know how to use the website. So its simple to use, aint that a good thing. Means everyone has access to it. I kinda think thats what airlines want people to go for. Jetblues is very easy to use, as is BE's.

I like it! It is much easier to navigate than the old site, and looks clean and tidy. Very professional.

One quick comment, regarding their North American route map: somebody needs to give BA a US geography lesson, specifically regarding Omaha and Des Moines, and a few other cities shown that are way off. At least it is easy to use and understand (I am nitpicking!).

... And I thought the IAH-LHR flight was via DTW not ORD???!

Is this a mistake on the route map or has there been a schedule change?

It is through Detroit now indeed, but it is a very recent change, not yet reflected on the maps.

OK - thus my confusion.
I'm sure that BA will change it in due time.

Actually, simplicity is all the rage now. Have you heard of web 2.0? It's the new wave of websites that have greater interactivity and clean graphics IIRC.

Funny, they still got a problem with their alignment of the route map (tested with both IE7 and Firefox 2).

But worst problem is that the PDF edition of their etimetables are "valid 26 March 2006 to 28 October 2006" - aren't we now in November 2006?

Forget aestetics. It's all about content. It doesn't have to look pretty; it just has to work easily for the user. If you look at some of the revisions of the other airline sites, the sites are driven to generate "content" to make it easier when doing a search to have that site come up first. If BA has been effective at making it possible for a Google search for "Flat Bed seats" to bring up BA's site in the first three sites on the first page, then the site is successful...that and its functionality, of course.

Yah, simplicity is all the rage indeed. But not at the expense of presentation. There is so much that can be done in a simple, low graphics way.
