Thats the problem, they even need to exert any effort these days, a simple note is enough to make everyone jump a mile high.

As if there would actually be a note if it was serious.

The note was found by passengers. They must be mentally retarded. Who do think the FBI was most suspicious of? The passengers who found the note and gave it to the crew, of course. The FBI took them out for questioning. They should have put the note down the toilet, and saved themselves a lot of trouble, to say nothing of the hundreds of others who got screwed by these retards.

Yeah, right, it might be legitimate. I guess I forgot about all the times the terrorists left warning notes before they hijacked or blew up planes, and how all those attacks were prevented when some heroic passengers turned the notes over to the crews.

The people who give the note to the crew are the primary suspects. Because the police know a real terrorist wouldn't leave a note. Duh.

So, if you ever encounter a threatening note when on a plane, you confidently say you will go to the toilet and flush it down or something like that??? Very easy to say such things sitting in front of your computer pal....if you're actually the one to pick up the note the first thought to cross yur mind will be "Oh my god! What if it's true!!"...

Yes. At that point, my fingerprints would be on the note. So I'd have no choice but to get rid of it.

How many times have *real* terrorists left notes in the recent past? (Ever?)
Did I miss it for 9/11...The WTC in 1993...The OKC federal building...?

I'm not saying there should be /no/ reaction but this "OMG, Divert! Strip search everyone!" mentality is, IMHO, letting the (real) terrorists win without making them do any work.

It is also, again IMHO, a sign of how much trust the authorities really have in Airline/Airport security, but that's a different series of rants.

Considering that Homeland Security already thinks half of us rampers are terrorists already...
