CI Cargo Looking To Increase Frequency Asap At IAH

Fri Nov 10, 2006 11:46 pm

Seems like the new cargo service is doing well. Phillip Wei, CI president also noted that a lot of key high-tech and oil and gas customers in the Houston area as well as San Antonio and Austin are all using this service

According to the article the routing is TPE-Japan-BNA-IAH

Yeah I saw this in today's 'Comical' biz section, good news indeed. Just one thing however, what's in BNA to attract CI Cargo? I don't believe that Nashville is a big hub for any major cargo operator, unlike SDF (UPS), MEM (FedEx). I suppose there must be a lot of trade between Tennessee and Asia to warrant the flight, otherwise CI Cargo would not service the city. Still seems like an oddball route to me (then again, I suppose some might view IAH is an oddball route for this service).

Quoting 102IAHexpress (Thread starter):
According to the article the routing is TPE-Japan-BNA-IAH

Routing should be TPE-ANC-BNA-IAH-ANC-TPE

I believe Dell makes all their Laptops for the US, Canada and Latin American Markets in Nashville. I know they've got some pretty massive operations there. The flights are probably geared towards them and their suppliers. From there, they may take additional cargo to AUS via IAH. The proximity of the 2 makes sense. Their Server and Desktops are built in AUS so there can never be enough Freight Dawgs flying in down there...

I'm a Houstonian in Nashville now and I see the CI744 leave BNA all the time. Nissan and Dell have interest in the Nashville area--in fact the Dell campus is nearly across the street from the airport.
