TAAG : 1 777-300ER In Sight

Tue Nov 14, 2006 6:06 pm

After having received 2 T7s , a third one will arrive next year , and the 4th would be a 777-300ER.

http://www.atwonline.com/news/other.html?issueDate=11/14/2006

So it could be the first African 777-300ER.

Great to see another B777-300ER customer! (If the negotiations are successful)

taag still has options on 1 B777-200ER and 2 B737-700 that haven't been exercised, I believe that these new orders will be leased ones, the B777-200ER coming next year and the B777-300ER in negotiation.

Really huge improvement on Taag's fleet. Wait to see them on their service to Rio.
Will be nice to see the 777-300ER also.

Wow! That's just amazing a TAAG Boeing 777-300ER!!! What about their Boeing 747s? I read they were going to be converted for cargo operations, does this plan remains? Any more info on this?

Why they need so many longrange aircrafts? Untill yesterday they hat 2 B747-300 for this flight and in the futer they will operate 4 B777-200/300. That's too much I think.

The traffic between LAD and GIG is incredible (from a casual observer standpoint, standing in line at immigration). I don't think TAAG will have problems filling these T7s. The cultural and trade relations betwwen these two nations is something to be seen. Though while in LAD, there are many Brasil shirts to be seen ("9"), I can't say I ever saw an Angolan sickle and gear shirt worn in Brazil (except by this whacko gringo).

Cool, para bens to TAAG, Boeing and their PAX. The Angolan consumer deserves this service.

You would be surprised about TAAG passenger loads!! Angola being a former
portuguese colony they run almost daily flights Luanda/Lisbon, plus services
to Paris, Rio, Johannesburgh... I hear they also have plans to fly to London and Beijing soon. After many years of civil war and unrest, Angola is slowly
becoming an important business destination in Southwest Africa due to its
oil and diamond industry

Their Commercial Director told me yesterday that they plan to acquire a 767 Freighter for cargo ops and keep the 747 Combis in service on selected routes before retiring them as the remaining 777s get delivered. Take that with a pinch of salt though.

Try to get a hotel room in LAD, next to impossible. The next "boom" here will be banking. Same as Nigeria, me thinks.

Greetings from the Presidente across the bay, if they dredge much more sand in front, I'll walk over for a beer at Miami!

Glad to see TAAG expanding. Any more news on a possible US-LAD flight? There were rumors of a possible IAH-LAD flight.
I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning.
