Its Official: Allegiant To FWA

Wed Nov 15, 2006 10:51 am

The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette and CBS affiliate WANE-TV are both reporting that FWA is landing Allegiant Air. A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30 AM EST. More information is available here.

Personally, I can't wait... leisure passengers have been forced to go to IND for low fares for eons, and G4 will do great here. As for G4's choice of cities: my guess is that SFB is probably a given, PIE is highly likely, and LAS is a long-shot.

good for Ft Wayne, it certainly is a city that fits the Allegiant mold. I would guess SFB service for sure, maybe PIE as well. Allegiant is going to need a bigger route map, or an interactive one. They also need to move South Bend farther west as its right over Ft Wayne  Smile

Well, it's official: Allegiant announced FWA today.

FWA-SFB only for now, with flights 2x weekly (departing Monday and Friday) on Mad Dogs. Service starts 2/15/07. The official press release from G4 is available here.

As they said in the movie Airplane! (one of my favorite movies), "I just want to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you."

I dug through my archives and found a shot I took in April of an Allegiant MadDog here in FWA (alongside our new tower):

It might be worth my while to drive to FWA to fly to Florida now!
