TYS To Get New Non-Stop City

Thu Nov 16, 2006 12:50 am

I know we're not that BIG of an airport, but TYS will announce a new city later today?

Announcement expected at 4 pm today.

Any ideas?

Maybe Allegiant is announcing SFB. They've already announced FWA-SFB.

Sfb would be nice, maybe STL service on AA? you never know. Wouldn't shock me if DL threw in a BOS or SLC route, they are the big airline at TYS already serving ATL, MCO, TPA, LGA, CVG non-stop. Eother way looking foward to this announcement

Everything I hear...all the tips I'm getting lead to Vegas. BUT, I don't have anything confirmed.

The airport dooes say that the new flight will begin in February...and Allegiant has announced a HUGE increase in service beginning in February.

It's totally not out of the realm depending on what the market is. I haven't ever studied the market there in TYS so I dunno what TYS-LAS is like. Just food for thought, it's 14nm further to TYS then it is LAS-TOL. Then again, you don't have big bad DTW breathing down your neck. (TOL used to be G4's longest route but cut it in April because of the M80 being uneconomical to run that distance with 150 seats)

I must say I'm surprised at this...but good for TYS. Looks like the lower gas prices are making longer hops more doable.

4x weekly to LAS

Im surprised to see LAS, as a old user of TOL, like posted above I knew it was similar in distance to TOL, hoefully this means TOL can expect to get that LAS service back some time relatively soon

There's the official word. Looks like they are going to bridge that aircraft over to PIE, similar to what they did at TOL when we had the LAS service.

As I said in the SFB increase thread, look for more new stuff in the next couple of weeks.

Congrats to TYS, come out and support it.
