Well, I just heard from a friend of mine that this ac tried to land in BAQ with crappy weather, and had reverses innoperative in engines 2 & 3, IIRC, seems that the pilot landed a bit too fast and with the wet runway and the loaded bird, it wasn't easy to stop, when he applied the reverser on #1, bc he tried to avoid the overshoot, the plane turned left and the front gear completely dug into the wet soil like a dagger. The captain is from Peru, and the F/O colombian (second hand source of this, of course, not him directly) and unfortunately, it seems that the Flight Engineer (or someone else in the crew) suffered some injuries, but it seems he's O.K.
Pls, this info is VERY MUCH second handed, so pls don't quote me on this, this is only pilot's gossips (a frien who knows tho FO told me that......) and this is how I knew it.
BAQ was closed most of the day, I was in MDE
a few hours ago and a F50 arrived from BAQ. I expected someone from BAQ all day long in Medellin, but she had to be sent in a bus to CTG then to BOG
and finally MDE
(Basically, an all day long trip), of course, never got to meet with this person.
