Ex-United B747-400s Destined For Mahan Air?

Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:09 am

According to ATDB (www.aerotransport.org) three ex-United B747-400s are destined for Mahan Air of Iran. The three aircraft are owned by Blue Airways (alias BlueSky), currently registered G-CEFD/CEFE/CEFF, and are reported to be transferred to the Kyrgyz register (EX-).

Mahan Air already operates three A300B2/B4s and one A320 leased from Blue Airways. One A310-300 is currently being refurbished at FJR. All these aircraft are Armenian-registered.

Can anyone confirm that the three B744s are indeed going to Mahan Air?

Blue Airways (alias BlueSky)

I heard also that, but Blue Airways is an operator from Armenia and Blue Sky is an operator from Libanon.

Former United Airlines B744 N176UA, is registered now G-CEFE for the new UK-based carrier Blue Sky Airlines.
It was rolled out at AMS in late September, following the completion of a D check by KLM Maintenance.
The start up is believed to be linked to Eagle Aviation (of France) and is reported to have its operational base at Beirut, Lebanon.

No indication here concerning Mahan Air, at least for this aircraft.

N190UA is currently hangared, hopefully to get the final touch...  Wink

Assume registering both aircraft on the Kyrgyz register is to prevent US sanctions while operating for Mahan ?

Bye, Chris.
Someday i'll fly away......

No, it's officially registered G-CEFF.
