TF-AMI Now A Freighter

Sun Nov 19, 2006 7:21 pm

Since when has TF-AMI been a freighter, and why have they converted it.

Who has converted it?

Looks boring in all white with just the titles.

Why? weren't they having much success with it as a pax aircraft.

Strange they didn´t paint it properly. Air Atlantas branding is puzzling to me, almost every aircraft looks different from each other, they don´t even use a consistent typeface or logo-size, not even within their new livery introduced two years ago. As they mostly operate on behalf of other operators I understand that some aircraft fly "anonymous", but why their branding, if applied, is so confusingly inconsistent can only be explained by a high grade of ignorance, maybe even incompetence, in the management.

Don't want to create a new thread, but Martinair's First 744BCF is in full colours in Xiamen. Big grin

The 747-400 has reached an age where it has become viable to convert them to freighters. They are cheap enough on the second hand market, and at the same time many airlines are looking to replace their ageing 747 Classic freighters. Some airlines, such as SQ are already replacing their 747-400s in passenger service with 777s, freeing up older 744s to be available for cheap conversion to freighters.
