Chilean Or Argentinian Spotters: N727GP (B721)

Mon Nov 20, 2006 5:36 am

Greetings fellow Latin American Spotters!

The night of Friday the 18th, a Boeing 727-100 registered N727GP to Malibu Consulting Inc, departed VNY (Van Nuys) to SJO (Juan Santamaria Intl) on a technical stop for a trip to either Chile or Argentina.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N...P/history/20061117/2224Z/KVNY/MROC

They arrvied on time around 10:15pm local time, and departed about an hour later. I was listening to ATC during the whole time and when he requested clearance, I couldn't listen to which airport it was but the ICAO ended with "E" and the routed went over GYV (Guayaquil) and LIM (Lima) and since this route more or less bordered the coast then it was probably due into Chile.

Now, I developed a theory that the Black Eyed Peas might of chartered this 727-100 to transport them from Chile to San Jose, Costa Rica where they will play this Tuesday. So, according to tour lists on Internet, the last 7 days these have been their playing locations:

Fri Nov 10, 2006 Black Eyed Peas Pedreira Curitiba BR
Sat Nov 11, 2006 Black Eyed Peas Skol Arean Sao Paulo BR
Sun Nov 12, 2006 Black Eyed Peas Mineirao Stadium Pamphula BR
Tue Nov 14, 2006 Black Eyed Peas Ginasio Nilson Nelson Brasilia BR
Fri Nov 17, 2006 Black Eyed Peas Club Ciudad Buenos Aires AR

Today, Sunday, they play in Chile:

Sun Nov 19, 2006 Black Eyed Peas San Carlos Apoquindo Santiago CL

On Tuesday, they play in Costa Rica:

Tue Nov 21, 2006 Black Eyed Peas Estadio Saprissa San Jose CR

Now, the plane got to Chile or Argentina or what ever its destination was Saturday morning.

The first theory is that the plane arrived Saturday morning to EZE or AEP (I say it was Aeroparque since its ICAO ends with "E" (SABE) and EZE which was an "E" also (SAEZ)) to pick them up and move them to Chile to arrive Saturday afternoon and then spend the night there and then play today, Sunday. The plane would sleep in Chile Saturday night and Sunday night and then the next morning, Monday, they would depart to SJO and arrive to SJO in the afternoon and then play on Tuesday, then it would be up to them what they would do with the 727 as they are staying a week here.

The second theory is similar just that the plane would not pick them up in Argentina and just stay in Chile until they needed to come to SJO.

I think this could be correct since this Malibu Consulting company does not exist in a concrete form (buildings, websites?) and that they probably just charter the plane for things like this. I also read somewhere else on the web that N727GP was a "Ghost Plane" used by the CIA to move prisoners but I find this a bit doubtful though many accounts of these planes circling around Europe do this, but who knows.

I also think its this since being SJO a technical stop, they could of chosen Panama or Nicaragua or something near but they chose SJO maybe because they wanted to familiarize with the airport since they would be coming back on Tuesday and know how things work here, which is maybe another cause why they stopped.

But to make things short (oh oh I guess its a bit late to say this!  Silly) I just wanted to know if anyone, particualarly from Chile or Argetina has spotted this plane between Saturday and Sunday and know what it was or is doing there. Anyone who also knows from this plane if free to reply as well  Smile.

Thanks for reading this long post guys!
Tomas.

Tomas, honestly I have not seen the aircraft but I doubt it would be at AEP since the airport has limited operations because of rwy expansion. Sorry I could no answer the real question though!

Muchas gracias compañero! Well I am very certain that it must be in Chile, since if they had gone to AEP or EZE, their route would have not crossed over GYV (Guayaquil) but QIT (Condorcocha/Quito) and no LIM (Lima) so maybe some one from SCL can clear it up. Thanks for the reply though  Wink.

Cheers,
Tomas.

The Black Eyed Peas played last friday in Buenos Aires at the Personal Fest.
So,I guess probably it was EZE.

Quoting from La Nacion, I just read this:

"El popular cuarteto de hip-hop llegaría al país anoche en un vuelo privado, procedente de Chile, explicó Roberto Montero, de Evenpro."

Translation: "The popular hip-hop group would arrive to the county last night in a private flight from Chile, Roberto Montero from Evenpro explained"

Well that almost confirms the prescense of the 727-100 here and very possibly my theory was correct!

Cheers!
Tomas.

Thanks so much my friend! This rules out that the Black Eyed Peas were using this plane. I hope they transit through SJO on their return to the US, so far they are probably still in Argentina or Latin America.

Thanks amigo!
Tomas.
