Why Did AQ 483 Divert To ONT?

Wed Nov 22, 2006 4:27 am

Aloha #483 (SNA-OGG) made a pretty abrupt u-turn this morning about 10 minutes after taking off and headed straight to ONT. Not enough time to dump fuel so they had to head to a longer runway I guess. Anybody know why the sudden diversion?

I thought the 73G (737-700) is not capable of dumping fuel...

See - I learned something new today. Thanks. Anyway, AQ 483 didn't fly around to burn off fuel and chose to land heavy at ONT. Anybody know why?
